Horse Farms within minutes of the town of Southern Pines. Southern Pines is well known for its large equestrian population and miles of hiking trails including the Walthour Moss Foundation. It is well known hunt country and for its many carriage riders.

McLendon Hills: 10 miles from Pinehurst
McLendon Hills is a gated lake and equestrian community. There is a 23 stall equestrian center available for boarding to the residents and the public. There are over 6 miles of trails for use by residents and boarders. There are mini-farm, vista and lake front properties.

Grande Pines and Reynwood: Approx. 15 minutes from Pinehurst
Grande Pines is a gated equestrian community. Reynwood is adjacent to Grand Pines, but not gated.

Morganwood: 10 Miles from Pinehurst
A newer section in the gated community of Seven Lakes. Some of the Morganwood homes and home sites are designated equestrian for a small horse farm. There are trails surrounding the Morganwood section.
